About 30 miles southwest of Washington, DC, it is bordered by Prince William County and Manassas, from which it is a separate town. To the west, its neighbor is West Gate. Though the majority of residents do own a car for transportation, Manassas Park also has a local bus that circulates the town. Major highways that are nearby include VA-28 and I-66.
